Position: Business Analyst – Intermediate to Senior Level
Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst with strong expertise in Corporate and/or Commercial Banking, particularly within Trade Finance and Payments projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with financial systems, managing vendor relationships, and delivering high-quality business analysis deliverables in complex project environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse, document, and manage business requirements for Trade Finance and Payments initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure alignment on functional requirements and system capabilities.
- Support process improvements through business process engineering and optimization of current and future state processes.
- Produce clear, comprehensive business requirements documentation and ensure timely sign-off of all project artefacts.
- Utilize tools such as Jira and Confluence to track, document, and communicate project progress.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Corporate and/or Commercial Banking, focusing on Trade Finance and Payments projects.
- Hands-on experience with Payments and Trade systems (EFT, RTGS, Swift, Calypso, RIVO, DOKA, Tiplus, eTradeport, etc.) and vendor management (e.g., Surecomp).
- Strong understanding of Structured Trade and Commodity Finance (STCF), particularly in cross-border financing of goods and commodities.
- Deep knowledge of Payments and Trade products and services, including Domestic Payments, Cross-Border Payments, Letters of Credit, Foreign Bills of Collection, and Trade Guarantees.
- Relevant tertiary qualification and business analysis certification/training (FTI, IIBA, MICTSETA, Advanced Business Analysis Programme, National Certificate in Business Analysis, CBAP, or equivalent).
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple requirements simultaneously and deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in electronic project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Preferred:
- Experience in Business Process Engineering/Analysis, with the capability to perform both BA and PE roles, including process mapping and optimization.
